War Memorial

war memorial On October 7, 1922, Lord Byng came to Stonewall to unveil the new war memorial. 
 
Stonewall’s war memorial is constructed of Tyndall stone on a base of concrete and local limestone.
 
Four bronze tablets bear the names of 102 men killed in action.
 
The memorial was designed by Gilbert Parfitt of Winnipeg.

In total, the memorial bears the names of 175 individuals across WWI and WWII. Additionally, there are plaques honoring those who served in the Korean War and Peacekeeping missions
