Animal Control BL REMINDER!

Just a reminder to the residents of the Town of Stonewall that the Animal Control By-law

- requires dogs/cats to be licensed annually ($10 spayed or neutered/$20 if not)

- prohibits dogs/cats from running at large ($25 1st offence/$50 2nd and subsequent offences plus any fine imposed and costs)

- requires dog/cat owners to pick up dog excrement deposited on public property or private property AND also requires owners to pick up dog/cat excrement on their own property so as to not create an environmental or health hazard or a nuisance for neighbours.

- prohibits dogs/cats from being allowed on school grounds or playgrounds

- permits not more than 2 dogs and/or 3 cats per household

- prohibits dogs from barking/howling and cats from howling so as to unduly
disturb the quiet of any person

- provides that dog runs are only allowed in side and rear yards
